Inspired by the Petaluma Historical Library & Museum’s 19th century portrait collection, Paula Freund, a former board member of the Petaluma Museum Association, curated the PHL&M’s 2017 exhibit, Portraits of Petaluma Pioneers, Personal Images & Public Stories of a California Rivertown. Petaluma Pioneers Project She subsequently spearheaded and funded this website.
